In October, well known family historian, Celia Heritage, advised on ‘Tracing a 16th and 17th century English family tree.’ For this time there are fewer records, which are more difficult to find and to decipher, with most not transcribed. Nevertheless, Celia showed how, with luck and persistence, families can be traced. As well as parish records and wills, amongst others, manorial and court records can be valuable sources of information on family relationships.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday 21 November. Dr. Graham & Mrs. Brenda Field will be giving us ‘The story of a postcard.’ Doors will be open from 7 for 7.30p.m. at the Village Centre. Non -members are welcome for £2.
